What it is

Wali is an interest-free digital credit platform designed to give underserved consumers and micro and small enterprises access to transparent, flexible credit.

The challenge

Traditional lending often comes with high costs, hidden fees, and limited understanding of users’ income and spending behaviour.

The solution

  • Interest-free credit
  • Behaviour-based credit limits
  • Daily spending limits
  • Transparent 30-day billing
  • Fast digital onboarding
  • Spending insights

How the limit is earned

One billing cycle to the next

The credit limit is earned, one settled billing cycle at a time Three thirty-day billing cycles rising left to right. Each opens at the limit the previous one earned: spend inside the daily cap, settle the bill in full, and the ceiling steps up for the next cycle. The limit is a function of repayment behaviour rather than a fixed offer, which is what lets a first-time borrower start small and grow without paying interest for the privilege. The product

Users can access credit, manage their spending, repay within a clear billing cycle, and qualify for higher limits through responsible usage.

The pilot

Wali launched a pilot targeting 500 early adopters, focused on validating user acquisition, transaction activity, repayment behaviour, billing cycles and direct-debit payments.

Outcome

A digital credit experience designed around transparency, responsible usage and financial inclusion.

Credit people can actually read.

Wali was built to make the terms legible before the money moves. If you are building something with the same obligation, start with the problem rather than the product.
